1. Profession and Admissions 

All partners of Hards & Franke are patent attorneys (Federal Republic of Germany), European patent attorneys as well as European Trademark and Design Attorneys. As patent attorneys, they are granted permission to represent clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Patent Court and the German Supreme Court (the latter in nullity proceedings). As European patent attorneys, they represent clients before the European patent office (EPO) in Munich Moreover, all patent attorneys are registered agents before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).

2. Addresses of the Competent Professional Organizations

All patent attorneys of Hards & Franke are members of the German patent attorneys’ chamber (Patentanwaltskammer) as well as the professional chamber of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).

3. Relevant Professional Regulations

The German patent attorneys’ statute “Patentanwaltsordnung” (www.patentanwalt.de or BGBI. I 1966, S. 557, revised by BGBI 2001, S. 3656), the patent attorneys’ regulation on code of conduct “Berufsordnung der Patentanwälte” (www.patentanwalt.de or Mitt. 1997, 243 ff.), and the FICPI professional regulations (www.ficpi.org; revised on October 19, 1998) apply for the patent attorneys of Hards & Franke.

The code of conduct of the Institute of professional representatives before the European patent office (www.patentepi.de oder Abl. Epa 1986, 331 ff.) and the Regulation on discipline (www.patentepi.de oder Abl. EPA 1978, 91 ff.) apply for the European patent attorneys of Hards & Franke.

4. Legal Form of the Firm

Hards & Franke has the legal form of a "Partnerschafsgesellschaft" (German modified full liability partnership) and is registered at the Munich district court (Amtsgericht München). The company registration number is PR 883.

5. VAT number
